Large porcelain patio with lit steps and new fencing

An old sandstone patio with a round feature was taken up and replaced with a large porcelain patio across the full width of the house, wide steps down to the lawn with lights set into the risers, and new fence panels. There was no rear access, so everything went in and out through the house.

Before & after

Drag to compare.

A level porcelain patio the full width of the house, with lit steps down to the garden, finished in 6 days.

The job

How we built it.

  1. 01

    Old patio out

The old sandstone patio and its round feature were lifted and the ground dug out. With no rear access, every load went out through the house.

  2. 02

    Sub-base and edging

A compacted sub-base went down across the whole area, and the new edge and step fronts were built in block.

  3. 03

    Porcelain and steps

Large-format porcelain slabs were laid across the back of the house, with wide steps down to the lawn and lights set into the step risers.

  4. 04

    Finishing

New fence panels, a gravel strip along the side fence, and a final clean before handover.
