How we built it.

  1. 01

    Dig out and sub-base

    We cleared the old front garden, dug down to a firm formation level and built up a compacted sub-base, with edge restraints set to the finished levels before anything else went in.

  2. 02

    Boundary walls

    New buff brick walls were built around the edges of the plot and along the front of the house, giving the driveway a clean, finished border.

  3. 03

    Steps and landing

    A run of brick-built steps with grey porcelain treads leads up to a porcelain landing at the front door, so the entrance feels part of the same design.

  4. 04

    Block paving

    The driveway was laid in charcoal blocks in a herringbone pattern, framed by a contrasting light grey double border, then cut in tight around the walls and steps.
