A green, usable lawn all year, laid on a free-draining base so it stays flat.
Artificial grass is only as good as what is underneath it. Laid straight onto soil, it ripples, puddles and lets weeds through. Laid properly, on a compacted, free-draining base with a firm edge, it stays flat and usable through wet Kent winters.
We remove the existing lawn and a layer of soil, lay a weed membrane, build up and compact a stone sub-base, and finish with a fine levelling layer before the grass goes down. Joins are glued and hidden, and the edges are fixed to timber, sleepers or a hard edge so the lawn does not lift.
It suits families, pet owners and shaded gardens where real grass struggles. We are also happy to tell you honestly where real turf might suit you better.

Choosing what’s right for you.
Everyday family grass
A dense, hard-wearing pile that stands up to play and furniture. Mid-length piles tend to look natural and recover well after use.
Pet-friendly grass
Products with good drainage through the backing, laid on a very free-draining base, make cleaning easier. Regular rinsing still helps with odours.
Luxury long pile
Softer and more lawn-like underfoot, with a more natural look. It can flatten in heavily used areas and usually costs more.

Drainage on clay ground
On heavy clay, water can sit under the sub-base. A deeper base or additional drainage may be needed to stop the lawn becoming soggy in winter.

Heat and reflections
Artificial grass can get hot in direct sun, and reflections from some windows can damage it. It is worth thinking about where it will be laid and how much sun it gets.
- 03
Wildlife and drainage balance
Artificial grass does not support insects or soak up water the way a real lawn does. Leaving some planting areas or beds around it helps balance the garden.

A good product on a well-built base typically lasts many years, depending on how heavily it is used and how much sun it gets. The base is the part that usually decides how long it looks good, which is why we do not cut corners there.
