Full garden renovation: retaining wall, steps, lawn and lighting
This sloping back garden in Barnehurst was rebuilt over two weeks into two usable levels, joined by wide steps, with a new lawn at the top and lighting built in.

How we built it.

Levels and retaining wall
We dug out the slope and built a block retaining wall across the full width of the garden to hold the upper level.
- 02
Wide steps
A run of full-width steps with dark treads was built into the wall, so the two levels connect properly.
- 03
Finish
The walls were rendered and capped, artificial grass was laid on the upper level, and lights were fitted into the steps and walls.
